Blood sample of a person who has eaten can be taken but it should never be more than 200mg/dl. This is called Random blood sugar.

1. Bitter leaves

Vernonia amygdalina
This herb reduces the high level of sugar drastically and helps to repair the kidney. Squeeze the leaves in water and take 1- 2 glasses two to three times daily.

2. Bitter melon

Mormodica charantia
Squeeze fresh leaves in water and take a glass three times a day.

3. Brimstone

Morinda lucida
Squeeze fresh leaves in water with Bitter leaves and take a glass three times a day.

4. Cashew bark

Anacardium Occidentale
Boil the bark of the stem and take a glass four times a day.

5. Corn silk

Zea mays
Boil the silk in water, allow to cool and take one glass three times daily.

6. Garlic

Allium sativum
Combined with other herbs like Bitter leaves, mistletoe, Garlic helps in lowering high blood sugar level.

7. Mango leaves

Mangifera indica
Boil the leaves and take a glass three times daily.

8. Mistletoe

Viscum album
Taking a cup of mistletoe daily for 5 months have helped greatly in controlling high blood sugar.

9. Pawpaw leaves

Carica papaya
Green pawpaw leaves is very good for diabetes and Diabetes induced hypertension. Squeeze the leaves in water and take 200mls three times a day.

10. Plantain leaves

Musa paradisiaca

Pound plantain roots to get the juice, mix with half of volume of juice you get and you have a potent remedy for diabetes. Take Two spoon three times daily.

Ocimum gratissimum
Squeeze fresh leaves in water with Bitter leaves and take a glass three times a day.

13. Stool wood

Alstonia bonnei
Boil the leaves and take a glass three times daily.

Even though this is not a herb, I added it because of its usefulness.
Taking adequate water regularly is very good in maintaining a very good health. Take two to three cups of water before you go to bed at night.

How Often Should you check your Blood Pressure ?

This depends on your blood pressure reading.

Blood pressure is measured using two numbers. The first number, called systolic blood pressure, measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart beats. The second number, called diastolic blood pressure, measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart rests between beats

1. If your blood pressure is normal (less than 120/80), you can check every year or more depending as your health care provider.

2. With elevated blood pressure is elevated — systolic blood pressure between 120 and 129 or diastolic blood pressure of less than 80 — check it every 3-6 months.

Health care provider will probably recommend lifestyle changes like more exercise and a better diet.

3. Stage 1 hypertension — 130-139 over 89-90 — the health care provider might suggest lifestyle changes and see you again in 3-6 months. Or he could tell you to make the changes and give you medication, then recheck your condition in a month. It depends on what other health conditions or risk factors you have.

4. Someone with stage 2 hypertension — 140/90 or higher — will likely get medication.
