What is epilepsy?
Epilepsy also known as seizure disorder is a nervous system disease originating from the brain that causes people to loss consciousness and or have uncontrolled movement of different parts of the body.
These seizures can be brief and nearly undetected or long period of shaking (Seizures).
Causes of Epilepsy
In most cases, the cause is unknown but some people develop epilepsy as a result of brain injury, drug and alcohol misuse etc
Seizures starting before age 2 are mostly caused by high fevers or metabolic disorder such as abnormal blood sugar level.
Epilepsy cannot be cured but can be controlled in most cases.
For some people, the seizures do not respond to drugs only.
Some studies have shown that MCT a major component of Coconut oil is as effective and similar to classic ketogenic diet.
By taking Coconut oil as part of the daily diet, a patient who had drug-resistant epilepsy had a reduction in the number of seizures. A patient had a reduction in seizures by taking four tablespoonfuls twice daily of MCT oil.
A more convenient way is to replace your vegetable oil with Coconut oil.
